SHENBAGATHOPPU GIANT SQUIRREL SANCTUARY
The forest is just continuation of Megamalai forest and Periyar Tiger Sanctuary. The height is 100mtrs to 200 mtrs. It is 480 sq.kms in area.The giant Squirrel sanctuary is a composition of dry deciduous, moist deciduous, green to ever green forests depending on the rain it receives. The common trees found are jig, rosewood, mango etc. People visit Meenvettiparai for its water falls and calm atmosphere during rainy seasons and winter seasons.
ANDAL TEMPLE
Srivilliputhur Andal Temple is the most popular landmark of Srivilliputhur. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu and one of the 108 Divya Desams, temples that are revered in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, the 8th-10th century Vaishnava canonical literature. It is the birthplace of two of the most important Azhwar saints in the Vaishnavite tradition, Periyazhvar and Andal.
VATAPATARA SAYEE TEMPLE
This temple is situated just adjacent to Andal temple.Connecting them in between is the garden - the birth place of The Tamil poetess Andal and her guardian parent Periyalwar. Vatapatra sayi temple is a Vishnu temple dedicated to Vatapatrasayi or Rangamannar. The deity rests on a banyan tree leaf known as Vatapatram. Madavar Vilagam Vaidyanathar temple, enshrining a six feet high monolithic image of Nataraja, is another prominent temple in the town.
MADAVAR VALAGAM VAIDYANATHAR TEMPLE
The temple is again a specialty of Srivilliputtur because of the six feet monolithic Nataraja image. It is considered to be an architectural engineering of olden period. This temple is opened from 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
