NAVAKAILASAM TOURS
The Nava Kailasam Temples are Navagraha Temples where Lord Shiva itself is considered the particular Graham or planet. All the Temples are situated on the banks of the river Thamirabarani. The history of Navas instructed by Saint Agasthiyar, his disciple Romasa Maharishi plucked the flowers and made them float on River Thamirabarani. The first flower stopped at Papanasam, The second flower at Cheranmahadevi, the third flower stopped at Kadaganallur, the fourth flower at Kunnathur, the fifth flower at Murappanadu, the sixth flower at Sri Vaikundam, the seventh flower at Then Tiruperrai, the eight flower at Rajapathi and the last flower at Saentha Poomangalam. All the nine places are considered as Navagraha Sthalams and a visit to these temples are considered as visiting the appropriate Navagraha Temple.
PAPANASAR TEMPLE
The Papanasar temple the famous shrine in Papanasam which lies in the bank of Thambaraparani river where the main deity is Lord Shiva in the name of Papanasar (Destroyer of Sins). The name of the Goddess is Lord Loganayaki who is also known as Ulagambigai. This Papanasar temple is first among the NavaKailayams where the Navagraha known for this temple is Surya (The Sun). Papanasar is mainly known for his healing powers where he seems to be the medicine for any diseases in the world.
SANKARANKOVIL
Sankarankovil is a second largest municipality in the Tirunelveli district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Sankarankovil is home to the famous Sankara Narayanar temple. It is situated at Tirunelveli District and 56 km away from Thirunelveli City. Sankarankovil is the second largest town in the district. Sankarankovil is also said to be home to the deity named Avudai Ambal-RR.
KODAGANALLUR
Kodaganallur is a village on the banks of the river Tamaraparani, Tamil Nadu, India. It houses ancient temples dating back to the 12th century - a Vishnu temple for Sri Brahanm Adhava and a Shiva temples for Sri Abhimukt Eswara and Sri Kailasanatha - one of the nava-kailas.
KUNNATHUR
Kunnathur is a panchayat town in Tirupur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kunnathur is also known as Air Compressor City, because of the Tractor and Air Compressor workshops in the town. Kunnathur is home to a historic Lakshmi Narayanan Temple built by Cheras during 12th century. Other notable places of worship include Akilandeshwarar temple, Aranmanai Mariamman temple, Kunnathur Sivan Temple, the Lakshmi Narayana Temple and the Perumal temple.
SRIVAIKUNTAM
Srivaikuntam is a panchayat town in Thoothukudi district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the banks of the river Thamirabarani. Srivaikuntam (now in Thoothukudi District) is famous for the temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu known as Srivaikuntapathi Swami with a lofty gopuram. The town is located on the north bank of the Thamirabarani river. It is 30 km east of Tirunelveli , 30 km west of Tiruchendur and 39 km from Tuticorin.
THENTHIRUPERAI
The place is famous for the Makara NedunkuzhaiKadar Temple, is one of the Nava Tirupathi, nine Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Tiruchendur-Tirunelveli route, Tamilnadu, India in the banks of Thamiraparani river. All these 9 temples are classified as Nava Tirupathi, the 108 temples of Vishnu revered by the 12 poet saints, or Alwars.
MURAPANADU
Murappanadu Puthugramam Murappanadu Puthugramam is a Village in Karungulam Taluk in Tuticorin District of Tamil Nadu State, India. It is located 42 KM towards west from District head quarters Thoothukudi 651 KM from State capital Chennai Murappanadu Puthugramam is surrounded by Srivaikundam Taluk towards East, Alwarthirunagari Taluk towards East, Palayankottal Taluk towards west, Tirunelveli Taluk towards west.
SENTHAMANGALAM
Senthamangalam is a panchayat town in Namakkal district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Senthamangalam had a population of 18,085. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Senthamangalam has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%, male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 56%. In Senthamangalam, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.
RAJAPATHY
Among the nine temples, the Eighth abode is called RAJAPATHY, a village located near to Kurumpur, Thirunelveli District. During the year 1648, the Temple and village were washed out by the river flood and the remaining were found at the river banks of Poraiyour, Marukal Vaikkal, Thenthirupperai and Ottapidamram. So, no initiation has been taken to rebuild the temples even after 360 years, until the passion ignited in the minds of Saiva Devotees based on Kovilpatti, Tuticorin.
